Each night, the USSF offered
two plenaries chock full of amazing speakers that discussed their involvement
with social justice movements and passionate calls to action. This plenary
features: Suzanne Pharr (Southerners on New Ground), Imani Henry (International
Action Center), Mia Mingus (Georgians for Choice), Betita Martinez (Author,
De Colores Means All of Us), Loretta J. Ross (SisterSong), and Andrea
Smith (INCITE!).
I was able to make a complete DVD for this particular plenary.
If you would like a copy, you can order it here for $12.
Marx In Soho, a play
written by the people's historian Howard Zinn, was performed at the USSF
in the Westin. It chronicles Marx's return to life--to Soho, New York--to
discuss his philosophy, memories, and call for social justice.
